I keep hearing the same line: “I had the Tinder idea.” “I had the Uber idea.”
Now AI makes that claim even easier, because turning an idea into an app is faster than ever.
But the market is already showing the other side. With AI slop everywhere, people are learning that success is not just idea + product.
It is also:
- execution quality
- distribution and marketing
- timing
- trust
- consistency over time
So yes, AI lowers the barrier to build. That part is a huge win.
People without big budgets, strong networks, or full engineering teams can now ship things that were impossible a few years ago.
I do believe we’ll see more indie developers and more “businesses of one” with real recurring revenue.
But it won’t be because AI made business easy. It’ll be because AI made building possible — and builders still did the hard part after launch.
My current view: AI gives more people a seat at the table. Execution still decides who gets to stay there.
